2.0.10: / character in Artist truncates text
« on: April 19, 2007, 03:29:23 »
Strangely, this affects the Artist but not the Title (?!!), and it affects all Players including Cartwall Players and PFL/mAirListTag Players, and all Playlists.

So it's a bit of a pain to be tagging a track by AC/DC and ID3V2 tagged with that Artist name, only to have it show up in the Player as AC.

I'm very surprised that no-one else seems to have noticed this minor bug, unless of course it is fixed in the 2.1.x versions ;).

Torben: it is specifically the / character that causes this behaviour, it's not because of any combination such as /D or anything like that: I've tested this here :).

PS: Needless to say (?), this is the night before I give a Big Demo of mAirList to our station decision makers (SIGH!) tomorrow afternoon.

Obviously, this is a bug in the JvID3v2 component I use to extract the file tag. It assumes that '/' is the character used to separate multiple values inside the (originally single-line) artist field. mAirList however only shows the first artist from the list.

I will make mAirList concatenate the strings again.

Workaround has been applied, v2.0.11 is now available for download.
