mAirList Home Studio (formerly mAirList Personal Edition) offers advanced automation capabilities including an audio database with music scheduling capabilities and interfaces to analog studio hardware. It's the perfect solution for ambitious radio enthusiasts running their own home studio, at an unbeatable price.
Features
First of all, mAirList Home Studio includes all features also found in the cheaper mAirList Home Player edition:
-
Playlist with Live Assist and Automation mode
The playlist contains all audio files that are going
to be broadcasted during your show. The files can be played
manuall (live assist mode) or automatically (automation mode).
You can toggle between these modes at any time.
Automation supports fix times for the timed playback of particular
items, e.g. news breaks at the top of the hour.
A sophisticated backtiming algorithm calculates and displays
the anticipated starting times of all items.
Numerous convenience features like ramp/intro countdowns
make the presenter's life easier.
-
Cartwall with unlimited slots
The Cartwall can be used to play short jingles or other
audio elements. The number of players/slots is technically
unlimited. Cart sets/pages can be saved as favorites for
quick access.
-
Multi-soundcard support
The audio output of each individual (playlist or cartwall) player can be routed to any soundcard available in your Windows system.
-
Configurable hotkeys
mAirList can be operated by customizable hotkeys. There are hundreds of shortcuts available that you can assign freely to any available key or key combination.
-
Graphical Cue Editor (new in mAirList 4.0)
The graphical Cue Editor allows you to edit the
cue markers (ramp, fade out, etc.) of any item quickly
based on a waveform image of the audio. Cue markers
can be saved to file tags (selected file formats only)
or metadata XML files for later use.
-
Integrated streaming encoder
mAirList includes a streaming encoder that broadcasts the audio output of the players and/or a signal recorded from a soundcard input to any Shoutcast or Icecast compatible streaming server. You can broadcast the signal to multiple servers simultaneously, and use the Aircheck function to create audio files of the streamed signal (supported audio file formats subject to available codecs.)
Additionally, mAirList Home Studio includes the following features:
-
mAirListDB audio database and music scheduling (local mode only)
The mAirListDB audio database stores metadata of all files in your audio library, and offers the ability to store hourly playlists/logs for each day and hour. The integrated Mini Scheduler generates music logs according to fully customizable hour templates. The mAirListDB database included in this edition does only run in local mode (all data is stored in a single databas file on your hard disk). It is designed for use on a single PC and does not support network operation.
-
Support for multichannel WDM soundcards
If your WDM compliant sound card has more than one stereo
output (e.g. 5.1 or 7.1 - most cheap soundcards and even onboard
soundcards do so today), you can use the stereo outputs separately,
e.g. three stereo outputs on a 5.1 sound card. If you own
a mixing desk and wish to route the audio signal of each player
to a seperate channel on the mixer, you will find this very helpful,
because it reduces the number of soundcards you need in your system.
In fact, a single multichannel soundcard will suffice for a
typical studio setup.
-
Support for ASIO soundcards
This edition supports sound output on ASIO compliant soundcards, with multichannel capabilitis.
-
Advanced remote control
Besides the customizable hotkeys, mAirList Home Studio supports
remote control through joysticks/gamepad, IOWarrior modules or
MIDI messages. Using an optional interface, this allows you to
hook your faderstart/hot start capable mixing desk
(e.g. D&R Airmate, Behringer DX1000, Behringer DX2000 USB) to mAirList,
starting and stopping the players as you press a button or move a fader
on your desk.
-
Mix Editor (new in mAirList 4.0)
Using the Mix Editor, you can easily set up segues between
audio items using a multichannel waveform view. The Mix Editor
supports volume envelopes for voice tracking, and is available in both
the playout module and the mAirListDB management application.
-
Mixdown (improved in mAirList 4.0)
The mixdown function allows you to create a single audio file of a sequence of audio files, including the segues defined in the Mix Editor or Cue Editor, accurate to the sample.
-
Events
The Event Scheduler lets you run arbitrary actions
(e.g. inserting files, or loading hourly mAirListDB logs)
at scheduled times. This allows you to set up a 24/7 automated
system easily.
-
Fully customizable GUI
The appearance of all elements in the playout window,
and also their size and position in the main window,
can be customized through skin and layout files.
The integrated Layout Designer helps you to move the objects around.
-
mAirListScript
Using the mAirListScript language, you can extend the functionality of the software. For example, you can create a script that adds custom content downloaded from the web to the playlist, or a script that sends commands to an IOWarrior or MIDI device every time a player is started.
mAirList Home Studio Demo
A demo version of mAirList Home Studio can be obtained from the download page. It is fully functional but must be restarted every 30 minutes. Having purchased a full license, the demo version can be turned into a full version by installing your personal license file. The configuration will stay intact.
